We have some good news. We have won a grant of £25,000 from the UK Heritage Lottery Fund to prepare a bid for £250,000 later this year that will enable emergency repair work to the Old Castle. With more support we can prevent the collapse of this beautiful Scottish castle on the shores of Loch Fyne, Scotland. So we have made a start and every donation we receive will make a difference.

We are the Lachlan Trust, a registered charity. We need at least £150,000 for the emergency repairs to this historic building which is of national and international importance.

Our eventual goal is a total of £2 million to complete conservation and improvement work that will save the castle and its landscape for future generations. 

Old Castle Lachlan is a romantic ruin in a glorious, remote and unspoilt setting. Here you can experience history galore, wonderful views, peaceful coastal walks, wildlife and - amazingly enough - one of the best restaurants in Scotland. Everyone who visits this lovely spot is inspired by its special beauty.
